The original Hotline Miami was, I think, damn near perfect in what it was. The gameplay was simple to understand, but endlessly complex and hard as nails, while the story, music, and atmosphere all combined to give it a sharp sense of unease.
It’s a hard act to follow, and you can’t argue the second and final game in the series lacks for ambition; it has 13 playable characters, takes place both before and after the events of the first game, features a host of new mechanics from dodge rolls that let you avoid bullets to dual-wielding, and even lets you play a character who isn’t a depraved homicidal maniac.
As usually, we’ll start at 2:30 p.m. EST and wrap it up around 4:30 p.m. which should give us a nice, full look at the game. While you’re waiting for the stream to start, here are four songs from the soundtrack to tide you over.
And, of course, if you want to offer helpful suggestions, or just bust my chops about how much I suck, the Twitch stream is right here. Or watch below!
