Resident Evil: Revelations was beloved around here because it was essentially what the series should have become after Resident Evil 4; a game where you have to creep through corridors, count every bullet and, when it comes time to pull the trigger, use solid aiming controls to pick off your enemies.
The series has gotten a substantial upgrade for the sequel, albeit an odd and annoying one in the sense that the game is released “episodically.” Basically, a new chapter arrives every week for you to play through, which reflects the structure of the original game… but it does make you wonder why you can’t just have the whole game, right now, if there’s not going to be any real breathing room between chapters, and especially because the full game is going to arrive at retail in late March.
On the other hand, it’s $25 for the “full season,” and frankly, I’m not going to complain too hard. Or I might, as I’ll be on-mic for our stream below! We’ll be starting the shenanigans at 1:30 p.m. EST and streaming until about 3:30 p.m. or until I beat the episode. Which I rank as unlikely, but maybe I’ll be surprised. If you’d like to make fun of my lack of gaming skills, or ask me questions about the game, check in on the stream or weigh in below. I’ll reply to comments after the stream wraps up.
