After sticking with a familiar cast for years, Fox is bringing in some fresh blood for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. The movie will feature a new Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Ty Sheridan) and Storm (Alexandra Shipp) just to name a few, and even returning names like Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence are sporting new looks.
So, with all the new faces and mutant makeovers, how are the new X-Men, and Apocalypse’s villainous Four Horsemen, looking? Based on these new posters, pretty damn sweet. Here’s the X-Men poster.
James McAvoy is pretty imposing sporting the classic Professor X hairless look, and I’m digging Jennifer Lawrence’s dynamic new style. The Mystique blue bodypaint look was certainly scintillating when it debuted back in 2000, but it was time for a change. Also, Sophie Turner was born to play Jean Grey.
And now, here’s the Four Horseman poster…
Definitely Michael Fassbender’s best Magneto costume yet, and yup, my inner 13-year-old remains pretty amped up about Psylocke finally making it to the big screen.
What do you think of the new outfits? I’ve always kind of considered the X-Men movies a B-level franchise next to, say, Marvel Studios’ output or the Batman movies, but it looks like they’re really stepping up their production this time around. X-Men: Apocalypse arrives May 27.
