Meet Newt Scamander.
“Harry Potter” fans, you know what that means and why you should be excited. Yes, we have a star for the upcoming “Harry Potter” spin-off – or, at least, a frontrunner for a star. Though Warner Bros. isn”t confirming the news, Variety reported that recent Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne is the favorite to play Newt Scamander “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” slated to hit theaters in 2016.
The spin-off will take place in New York 70 years before the events of the “Harry Potter” series and will center on Scamander, the fictitious author of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
