When you get involved with “Star Wars,” discretion becomes the name of the game. Fans were upset when Lando Calrissian”s name didn”t appear on the roster for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” but according to Billy Dee Williams, perhaps not all hope is lost.
During an interview with Cinelinx over Lando's “Star Wars Rebels” appearance, the conversation turned to whether or not Han Solo's best frenemy would be returning to the big screen.
Williams didn't say no. But he didn't say yes, either. Rogue that he is, Williams used that old Jedi Mind Trick PR tactic of dropping hints like Han drops cargo at the first sign of trouble.
“I have a feeling I”m going to show up [eventually]. There”s nothing I can really discuss about it at this stage […] People think of me as the original cast, but I didn”t come in until the second movie. I did Empire and then I did Return of the Jedi, but I came in after everyone else was introduced…So I think they”re probably proceeding in that way.”
Williams ended by saying he couldn't imagine Disney not bringing Lando back, but dodged answering if he already knew when. But it sounds probable that Cloud City's Baron Administrator will put in an appearance in Episodes VIII or IX.
