Come next TV season, John Cena can say, “The champ is here…again.”
FOX announced today that the pro grappler”s reality/competition series American Grit has been renewed for a second year. The show concluded its first season in early June after a 10-episode run.
American Grit puts teams of four through military-style training, having them crawl through mud, maneuver through obstacle courses and other feats of strength in order to split $1 million.
The first season of the show fared ok, averaging just shy of 2 million viewers per episode (not including DVR viewership). It did see an uptick from its mid-season low of 1.73 million viewers to close out the season at 2.11 million during the June 9 finale. When you add in DVR numbers, it actually topped out at 2.58 million viewers.
The air date has not yet been announced.
