The most shagalicious British spy Austin Powers might take on another mission, this according to director Jay Roach.
In an interview with Larry King, the man behind the camera for all three in the series said that he and the man who plays Powers, Mike Myers, have certainly discussed a future project for the oft-randy secret agent.
“You know, we talk about it every time we get together,” Roach told King. “I would say it”s in a latent phase right now but someday if we find the right idea that seems to have it earn itself, for sure.”
Roach added, “Mike gave me the break of a lifetime in letting me direct [Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery], so I”m always good to go.”
The major hold up now seems to be what would the story be. And according to Roach, there”s nothing certain as he said they”ve been “kicking around” some ideas, but “there”s no one that”s kind of stuck yet.”
The series, which began in 1997 and had sequels in 1999 and 2002, were hugely popular. Combined, the domestic gross for the three exceeds $750 million. Once international box office is added, that number is more than (hold pinkie to corner of mouth) $1 billion.
