Comedy Central canceled The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The late-night series hadn't “connected with our audience in ways that we need it to,” said Comedy Central president Kent Alterman. The show will have one last week and air its final episode on Thursday.
In a statement to THR, Wilmore admitted that he was saddened but joked about how “The Unblackening” was also “happening to my time slow as well.” Comedy Central doesn't have set plans on what will fill the 11:30 p.m. slot but for now, Chris Hardwick's @midnight will air in its place.
