One of Comic-Con's worst-kept secrets was confirmed by Comic-Con International today. Daniel Radcliffe, who never made it to San Diego during his “Harry Potter” years, will finally visit the pop culture fest in conjunction with a panel for the new indie comedy “Horns.” That's big news in and of itself, but besides a massive two-hour presentation from 20th Century Fox, Friday is going to be pretty weak on the movie side.
Most of the excitement Friday will actually come from the “Game of Thrones” and “Walking Dead” panels that are part of the Hall H mix. That being said, here's a rundown of Comic-Con's Friday offerings.
“Horns” and “Everly”
When: 3:00-4:00 PM
Where: Hall H
Who: Radcliffe, Hayek
Lowdown: Radius-TWC will bring “Horns” with Radcliffe, Juno Temple, director Alexandre Aja and novelist Joe Hill. In an intriguing surprise, Salma Hayek will also preview the new thriller “Everly.” [Incorrectly noted it was an animated film when first published.]
20th Century Fox
When: 4:20-6:20
Where: Hall H
Who: Channing Tatum, Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Zachary Quinto, Guillermo del Toro, Damon Wayans, Jr, Dylan O'Brien, Will Poulter
Lowdown: Fox has a massive presentation on hand. The studio will preview and have panels for “The Maze Runner,” Guillermo Del Toro's “Book of Life” with Channing Tatum, “Kingsman: The Secret Service” with Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson, “Hitman: Agent 47” with Zachary Quinto and “Let's Be Cops” with Damon Wayans Jr., Rob Riggle and Keegan Michael-Key (although no Jake Johnson, it appears).
Kevin Smith and “Tusk!”
When: 6:35 PM-8:05PM
Where: Hall H
Who: Kevin Smith
Lowdown: Smith returns for his annual standup/Q&A, but the panel will also feature the first footage of his new movie “Tusk.” If you love Smith you'll have a ball. If not, head out to the Gaslamp for dinner.
