The first official picture of Tom Hiddleston as country icon Hank Williams for the forthcoming film “I Saw The Light” has been released, and he looks every bit the part as you'd hope.
Sony Pictures Classics is releasing the Williams biopic on Nov. 27 in limited theaters, with a wide release shortly thereafter. The Marc Abraham-helmed effort co-stars Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford, Maddie Hasson, and Wren Schmidt, along with Elizabeth Olsen as Hank Williams' wife Audrey Mae.
“Light” is based on Colin Escott's 1994 novel “Hank Williams: The Biography” and chronicles his rise to superstardom and tragic death at the age of 29.
Tom Hiddleston performed “Move It On Over” at a festival in September last year: sample a handful of other times the “Avengers” actor sang some songs (and showed off some moves), like when he sang as a pirate or tried on “Bear Necessities” for size. Look for an entirely separate style of swagger when beloved Loki scares the pants off of you in “Crimson Peak,” out in October.
