Colin Kaepernick's national anthem protest has blown up in the news since the San Francisco 49ers quarterback first sat for the “Star-Spangled Banner” on August 26, and now South Park has weighed in on the matter in this first clip from the show's 20th season opener. The show is clearly taking aim at what creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone see as the hypocrisy behind some of the current anti-police rhetoric, and to make their point they've bluntly rewritten the national anthem to suit their message. In classic South Park fashion, there is nothing subtle about it.
South Park Season 20 premieres Wednesday on Comedy Central. You can check out highlights from Parker and Stone's San Diego Comic-Con panel here.
