(CBR) Director James Mangold's “The Wolverine” will spawn a sequel, due in theaters on March 3, 2017. Few details about the project are known otherwise, though now we can add at least one name to the mix: David James Kelly.
Deadline reports that Kelly has been hired to write the script for the next “Wolverine” movie. It's not the writer's first time dabbling in the comic book world, as Kelly is also working on an adaptation of Matt Kindt's creator-owned Dark Horse comic “Mind MGMT” for Scott Free Productions.
In addition to Kelly's enlistment with the “Wolverine” sequel, Deadline confirms that Hugh Jackman will be back as the claw-popping mutant. Not a huge shock, but it's still worth mentioning, given how often Jackman himself has indicated that his days as Logan are approaching an end.
Jackman can next be seen as Wolverine on May 23 in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” the latest trailer and poster for which was released earlier today.
