Jimmy Kimmel had an all-“Star Wars” episode last night, just before Thanksgiving. A “Star Wars Holiday Special,” if you will.
J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Adam Driver showed up to represent the new guard, but it was the “Star Wars” veterans who were the most fun. Carrie Fisher was at her Carrie Fisher-est, declaring that the end of “The Force Awakens” involves nudity and accidentally butt-dialing (or, in keeping with the “Star Wars” universe, butt-hologramming) Kimmel from her dressing room, where she wondered which Jimmy's late night talk show she was on (“is this the kiss ass one or the bearded one who lives in Harrison's ass?”). She dropped a couple f-bombs, too.
And while Harrison Ford didn't make it onto Kimmel's couch, he did appear in a pre-taped skit with Chewbacca. The Wookiee is suicidal. Kimmel tries to talk him down, and then Ford just happens to wander in and ask what's going on. When Kimmel says Chewbacca is going to kill himself, Ford mutters “good.” It turns out that there is some bitter history between the two involving an ex-wife. Kimmel begs Ford to “remember the good times,” and there are flashbacks, to the tune of Adele's hit single: beers, games, pedicures. Also, Ford drops an f-bomb. Chewbacca might have, too, but we wouldn't know.
Also, we got a juicy little spoiler about the upcoming movie! According to Abrams himself, the first spoken word in the film is … “this.”
