Strange things are not yet afoot at the Circle K, but they”re getting closer.
The long-rumored third film in the Bill and Ted series is inching toward reality. According to Ted himself (Keanu Reeves), it sounds like it”s two steps forward and one step back when it comes to the time traveling slackers.
“We”re closer and we”re not closer,” Reeves told IGN about the movie. “We”re trying to get the story right. We”re working with this studio so we have a little bit of support, in a sense of like if the material comes through we”ll try and make this picture.”
The idea of Bill & Ted 3 has been floating around for 15 years, perhaps longer. In October 2001, Ain”t it Cool News reported that, Alex Winter, who played William (Bill) S. Preston, “is trying to get a third and final Bill and Ted installment made to complete the series.”
The first two films brought in an inflation adjusted $140+ million, developing a cult following in the process. It also spawned video games, a comic book, a short-lived TV series and even a cereal.
