What else do you need from a TV series? Debra Messing holds a gun and shoots it. There. Season pass booked.
NBC's new light-hearted detective drama “The Mysteries of Laura” follows a type-A detective (Messing) who is also a stern soon-to-be-single mother of young boys. They're misbehaved scamps who get into all sorts of trouble, and the irony is that Messing usually deals with misbehaved people by — you guessed it — shooting them. I can only hope this is secretly a documentary.
Check out the above clip and the official trailer below. Keep in mind this show has “Boston Legal” scribe Jeff Rake on board as well as cast members Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, and Janina Gravankar. As you can see, this is only slightly more gritty than Messing's last series “Smash.”
“The Mysteries of Laura” will air at 9 p.m. EST on Wednesdays.
