The publicity machine continues to chug along for next year’s “Divergent.” Last week saw new character posters and today we have gotten not only the launch of the trailer, but also a live stream event on YouTube offering more insight into the movie immediately following the trailer’s premiere.
Present at the live stream were Neil Burger, the director of “Divergent,” and seven folks from Maker Studios whose total combined YouTube subscribers sit at over 4.1 million. Burger offered an intro prior to the trailer and then took questions after. You can check out both the live stream and the trailer below.
We will let you watch the live stream yourself, but to look at the trailer for a minute, it gives us a peak at the post-apocalyptic world in which the film is set. It opens with a great introduction for those unfamiliar with the world, setting up exactly the way in which it works and why Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is different from others. It also sets up a potential love interest for Tris and offers up a clear look at what she has to face in the movie.
If you have read the book, tell us, is this the way you pictured the world? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
Divergent arrives in theaters on March 21, 2014.
