If 2011’s “The Raid: Redemption” didn’t feature enough bone-crunching battles for you, director Gareth Evans and star Iko Uwais are delivering even more action in the upcoming sequel, “The Raid 2: Berandal.”
The sequel picks up where the first film ended, with Rama (Uwais) going undercover to take down a Jakarta crime family and expose corruption within his own police department.
The first film was set entirely within a high-rise building and it looks like Evans and his athletic cast had a field day going outside for the sequel. Set to classical music, the mayhem-packed new trailer features car chases, foot races, a subway fight and even what appears to be a huge battle royale in the mud. Your move, Hollywood.
The film will be unleashed at the Sundance Film Festival next month, before heading to regular release.
“The Raid 2: Berandal” opens March 28, 2014.
