Clip It: Each day, Jon Davis looks at the world of trailers, featurettes, and clips and puts it all in perspective.
Ah, Amsterdam. College kids across the world want to visit because of the windmill tour. And no other reason! It's the windmill tour. That's the big attraction, everyone knows that.
In The Windmill, a group of tourists hop on a bus to visit the windmills of Holland. None of them are being forced to do this by their parents, mind you. That's just what they're interested in.
The bus breaks down in front of a demonic windmill possessed by the spirit of an evil miller. (There's a piece of paper that explains this, apparently) I'm sure there's a reason everyone stays overnight. I mean, it's not like there's anything fun to do back in Amsterdam.
What happens next looks pretty standard. Some haunting, some screaming, and a hospital gurney in the middle of nowhere. The cinematography is pretty, as the filmmakers take advantage of scenic Holland. Everything else seems a little paint by numbers.
But… this is just the trailer. If you tell me this movie is great, I will definitely give it a shot.
