Just a day after Alicia Vikander was revealed as the next Lara Croft, another big screen version of a video game looks to be going forward.
Oscar-nominated producer Marc Platt and Stories International today announced their plans for a movie based on the SEGA video game Shinobi.
“We love the Shinobi games and believe that the world of ninjas has never been properly explored onscreen,” Platt said in a statement. “We now have the opportunity to do just that. With Shinobi, we hope to make a film that honors the essence of the games.”
Shinobi is actually a 30-year-old title. Since launching, the game makers have produced 12 Shinobi titles for a variety of gaming platforms including Wii, PlayStation and Xbox.
