On Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host confronted Simon Pegg – who co-wrote Star Trek: Beyond , the 13th movie in the franchise – with a clip from Pegg's show Spaced in which his character claims that all odd-numbered Star Trek movies are “s–t.” It's a clip that Pegg jokes has “come back to haunt me.”
But Pegg is good-natured about the whole thing, saying that he'd like to go back in time and tell his former self that he'll eventually be tasked with writing the 13th movie (which, Meyers points out, is “double unlucky”). The whole interview is worth a watch; Pegg also talks some about the writing process, including revealing how Jennifer Lawrence helped inform the script.
