The co-produced Sony/Marvel “Spider-Man” movie will no longer be released on July 28, 2017.
Disney announced today that they will be shifting the dates of some of their 2017 films. Originally “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” was meant to come out on July 7, 2017 which would be followed by the release of “Spider-Man” on July 28, 2017. Now “Pirates 5” will be coming out May 26, 2017 and “Spider-Man” will be taking their old date, on July 7, 2017.
The shifting of release dates is very common, especially since Disney's slate of films is very extensive. This shift also includes “Jumanji”, which will now debut on “Spider-Man's” old release date on July 28, 2017. “Star Wars Episode VIII” has also moved from May 26, 2017 to December 15, 2017, which could mean all of the upcoming “Star Wars” films will have December release dates.
“Spider-Man” stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, who will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the forthcoming film, “Captain America: Civil War.”
“Spider-Man” will swing into theaters July 7th, 2017.
