A planned Star Trek Beyond cast Q&A scheduled for Wednesday at the Cannes Lions advertising exhibition has been cancelled in the wake of cast member Anton Yelchin”s tragic death over the weekend, with distributor Paramount releasing the following statement:
“All of us are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend Anton Yelchin. Out of respect, we are withdrawing our participation in the previously announced Star Trek Beyond event at Cannes Lions this week.”
Yelchin”s body was found pinned between his Jeep Grand Cherokee and a brick pillar outside his Studio City, California home on Sunday morning, the result of what has been described as a freak accident. The actor was 27 years old.
