“Dateline” was Sunday's top show among young viewers by a wide margin and helped NBC to victory there.
With “60 Minutes” leading the way, though, CBS still won Sunday overall.
The second hour of “Dateline” was, in fact, Sunday's only show to go above The Mulaney Line of a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and helped both “A.D. The Bible Continues” and “American Odyssey” post small gains.
Let's get to the numbers…
Among adults 18-49, NBC averaged a 0.9 rating for Sunday night, tops in the key demographic. ABC was second with a 0.7 key demo rating, followed by the 0.6 key demo rating for both FOX and CBS.
Overall, though, CBS averaged an estimated 5.37 million viewers and a 3.5 rating/6 share for Sunday night, edging out NBC's 5.04 million viewers and 3.3/6. There was a drop to ABC's 3.59 million viewers and 2.2/4 and to FOX's 1.0/2 and 1.64 million viewers for Sunday night.
7 p.m. – “60 Minutes” led the 7 p.m. hour overall with 7.92 million viewers and put CBS in second with a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's “Dateline” also did a 0.8 key demo rating and finished second overall with 5.18 million viewers. A repeat of “America's Funniest Home Videos” was third overall with 4.59 million viewers and won the hour with a 0.9 key demo rating for ABC. Two “Bob's Burgers” repeats averaged 1.23 million viewers and a 0.4 key demo rating for the hour.
8 p.m. – NBC's “Dateline: My Kid Would Never Do That” averaged 7.11 million viewers and a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 to win the 8 p.m. hour. CBS' “Madam Secretary” repeat was second with 5.37 million viewers and fourth with a 0.5 key demo rating. ABC's “Dancing with the Stars” 10th anniversary special averaged 4.14 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating for third. FOX's repeats of “The Simpsons” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” averaged 1.82 million viewers for fourth and a 0.7 key demo rating for second on the hour.
9 p.m. – NBC stayed in first for the 9 p.m. hour with 4.81 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 for “A.D. The Bible Continues.” CBS' “The Good Wife” repeat was second with 3.81 million viewers and fourth with a 0.4 key demo rating. Repeats of “The Middle” and “The Goldbergs” put ABC in third with 3.03 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating. FOX was fourth overall and second in the key demo with a “Family Guy” repeat (2.125 million and a 0.9 key demo) and the debut of “Golan the Insatiable” (1.64 million and a 0.6 key demo).
10 p.m. – A repeat of “CSI” won the 10 p.m. hour for CBS with 4.37 million viewers and finished second with a 0.5 key demo rating, tying in the key demo with NBC's “American Odyssey,” which was second with 3.03 million viewers. Repeats of “Modern Family” and “Black-ish” averaged 2.59 million viewers and an hour-winning 0.7 key demo rating for ABC.
