Now that Supergirl has flown to its new home on The CW, the network is giving viewers a chance to brush up on the series.
Beginning August 1, The CW will air two episodes each Monday until Season 2 begins on October 10. During that 10 week span, the network will broadcast all 20 episodes from Season 1.
Supergirl, which stars Melissa Benoist in the title role, began its network TV run on CBS. But after one year, and steadily-declining viewership numbers, CBS cut it loose and it moved over to the more youth-oriented CW. Here Supergirl will be with more of its ilk, as the network is already airing superhero shows Arrow and The Flash.
The program also stars Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh and Jeremy Jordan. The fate of Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant is still uncertain due to a shift in production from Los Angeles to Vancouver. But CW head Mark Pedowitz has said “we are thrilled to have her in whatever capacity.”
