ABC got a decent premiere for “The Astronaut Wives Club” and a weaker two-hour premiere for “Mistresses,” but original dramas and even FOX sports coverage were no match for CBS' three hours of repeats, which led Thursday in most measures.
Other Thursday notables included another small dip for NBC's “Aquarius” and flatness for “Hannibal” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
FOX's US Open golf coverage wasn't a factor.

Among adults 18-49, CBS had a 1.1 rating for Thursday night, tops in the key demographic. ABC's 0.9, NBC's 0.8 and FOX's 0.7 followed in the key demo, while The CW averaged a 0.2 key demo rating for the night.
Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 5.28 million viewers and a 3.4 rating/6 share for Thursday primetime. ABC was second with 4.37 million viewers and a 3.1/6 for the night, topping NBC's 2.6/5 and 3.8 million viewers. FOX averaged 2.855 million viewers and a 1.8/3, followed by the 762,000 viewers and 0.5/1 for The CW.
8 p.m. – NBC actually won the 8 p.m. hour overall with 6.26 million viewers for “Dateline” and tied for first with a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49. As usual, Thursday's top show was CBS' repeat of “The Big Bang Theory” (7.15 million and a 1.5 key demo), followed by a drop for the “Odd Couple” repeat (5.1 million and a 1.1 key demo). The series premiere for “Astronaut Wives Club” was third with 5.545 million viewers and a 1.1 key demo rating, which was steady at the half hour. FOX's golf coverage averaged 2.57 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating in fourth, followed by the 881,000 viewers and 0.3 key demo rating for The CW's new “Beauty and the Beast.”
9 p.m. – Repeats of “Mom” and “Mike & Molly” won the 9 p.m. hour for CBS with 5.46 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. The first hour of the “Mistresses” premiere averaged 3.75 million viewers and a 0.8 key demo rating for ABC in second, beating the 3.36 million viewers and 0.7 key demo rating for NBC's “Aquarius.” FOX's golf coverage was fourth with 2.88 million viewers and tied for third with a 0.7 key demo rating. The CW's “Vampire Diaries” repeat trailed with 643,000 viewers and a 0.2 key demo rating.
10 p.m. – An “Elementary” repeat won the 10 p.m. hour overall for CBS with 4.245 million viewers and finished second with a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49, compared to the 3.81 million viewers and 0.9 key demo rating for ABC's “Mistresses.” NBC's “Hannibal” trailed with 1.77 million viewers and a 0.5 key demo rating. [If you're looking for hope for “Hannibal,” NBC says the show “surged” in young male demos from last week. Be that as it may, it was flat overall.]
