Fast National ratings for Monday, April 13, 2015.
The Monday ratings race continues to be fairly basic. ABC wins comfortably overall thanks to “Dancing with the Stars,” while NBC wins comfortably in the key demo thanks to “The Voice.”
“Dancing with the Stars” was even up from last week and while “The Voice” dipped a hair in the key demo, it added a few viewers.
Monday's biggest notable was the return of “Gotham” after over a month away, which took a steep dive in all measures, but still helped “The Following” move up again after last week's series lows.
And while “The Originals” and “Jane the Virgin” both got huge bumps from last week, The CW had baseball preemptions in New York City, so these numbers are coming down.
Let's get to the numbers…
Among adults 18-49, NBC averaged a 2.4 rating for Monday night, tops in the key demographic. CBS was second with a 1.8 key demo rating, followed by the 1.7 key demo rating for ABC. FOX averaged a 1.3 key demo rating for fourth, while The CW had an inflated 0.6 key demo rating for the night.
Overall, though, ABC averaged an estimated 11.165 million viewers and a 7.2 rating/12 share for Monday primetime. NBC was second with 9.15 million viewers and a 5.6/9, just ahead of the 5.4/9 and 8.63 million viewers for CBS. There was a big drop to FOX's 3.95 million viewers and 2.5/4. The CW's inflated night averaged 1.43 million viewers and a 1.0/2.
8 p.m. – “Dancing with the Stars” won the 8 p.m. hour overall for ABC with 13.43 million viewers and finished second with a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49, compared to the 10.73 million viewers and 2.8 key demo rating for NBC's “The Voice.” CBS was third with “2 Broke Girls” (7.14 million and a 1.8 key demo) and “Mike & Molly” (7.49 million and a 1.8 key demo). FOX's “Gotham” returned to 4.42 million viewers and a 1.5 key demo rating. The CW's “The Originals” averaged 1.4 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating, except that it probably averaged less than that.
9 p.m. – The pecking order remained the same in the 9 p.m. hour. “Dancing with the Stars” averaged 13.91 million viewers and a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49, compared to the 10.93 million viewers and 2.9 key demo rating for NBC's “The Voice. CBS' “Scorpion” averaged 9.4 million viewers and a 1.9 key demo rating, making it the night's top scripted show in both measures. On FOX, “The Following” averaged 3.49 million viewers and a 1.1 key demo rating for fourth. And The CW's “Jane the Virgin” is currently credited with 1.46 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating.
10 p.m. – “NCIS: Los Angeles” led the 10 p.m. hour with 9.17 million viewers and a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49. ABC's “Castle” repeat was second with 6.24 million viewers and third with a 1.0 key demo rating, compared to the 5.8 million viewers and 1.4 key demo rating for NBC's “Night Shift.”
