The pre-season out-of-time-period return of “Grimm” won its hour with ease, but the less-than-huge premiere for “Stars Earn Stripes,” plus a big audience for “Hell’s Kitchen” let FOX end NBC’s two-plus weeks of Olympics-driven primetime domination.
Among adults 18-49, FOX averaged a 2.3, knocking NBC down to second in the key demographic with a 1.8 rating. CBS averaged a 1.3 key demo rating, followed by the 1.1 rating for ABC. The CW averaged a 0.2 key demo rating for the night.
Overall, FOX averaged an estimated 5.79 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/5 share for Monday primetime, beating NBC’s 3.1/5 and 5.33 million viewers and CBS’ 3.2/5 and 4.91 million viewers. ABC averaged a 2.4/4 and 3.405 million viewers, with The CW averaged a 0.4/1 and 606,000 viewers.

8 p.m. – NBC started primetime in first overall with the 5.26 million viewers for the launch of “Stars Earn Stripes,” which came ins second with a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49. FOX’s premiere of “Hotel Hell” averaged 5.12 million viewers for second and won the hour with a 1.9 key demo rating. [The Gordon Ramsay series also beat “Stars Earn Stripes” overall in the 8:30 half-hour.] CBS’ repeats of “How I Met Your Mother” and “2 Broke Girls” averaged 4.49 million viewers and a 1.3 key demo rating for third, topping the 4.24 million viewers and a 1.2 key demo rating for “Bachelor Pad.” The CW’s repeat of a “Perez Hilton All-Access” special averaged 820,000 viewers and a 0.3 key demo rating.
9 p.m. – FOX comfortably took over the 9 p.m. hour with 6.46 million viewers and a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 for “Hell’s Kitchen.” CBS was second overall with 5.07 million viewers for repeats of “2 Broke Girls” and “Mike & Molly,” coming in third with a 1.5 key demo rating. NBC’s “Stars Earn Stripes” averaged 5.04 million viewers and held up in second with a 1.7 key demo rating in its second hour. ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” averaged 3.875 million viewers and a 1.2 key demo rating in fourth. On The CW, “Remodeled” returned with a new episode and averaged a woeful 392,000 viewers and a 0.1 key demo rating, posting a “0” share both overall and in the demo.
10 p.m. – “Grimm” started its temporary move to Mondays with 5.68 million viewers and a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 for NBC. CBS’ repeat of “Hawaii Five-0” was second with 5.16 million viewers and a 1.2 key demo rating, far ahead of the 2.09 million viewers and 0.7 key demo rating for ABC’s new “The Glass House.”
