Fast National ratings for Sunday, June 30, 2013.
Summer network TV doldrums were in full effect on Sunday night as “Big Brother” led CBS to ratings wins, despite coming in below last week’s launch and last summer’s Sunday premiere.
The Week 2 numbers were also weak for ABC’s “Whodunnit,” which slipped 23 percent, while NBC’s “Crossing Lines” was also down.
For the night, CBS averaged a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, edging out FOX’s 1.0 rating in the key demographic. ABC’s 0.9 key demo rating and the 0.8 key demo rating for NBC followed close behind.
CBS had a bit more breathing room overall with 5.55 million viewers and a 3.6 rating among adults 18-49 for Sunday primetime, topping NBC’s 2.4/4 and 3.635 million viewers. ABC was a close third with a 2.2/4 and 3.47 million viewers, while FOX averaged 2.34 million viewers and a 1.4/2.
7 p.m. – CBS started primetime in first with 7.1 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 for “60 Minutes.” ABC’s repeat of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” also did a 0.9 key demo rating and finished second with 4.62 million viewers. NBC’s encore of “America’s Got Talent” was third with 2.9 million viewers and a fourth with a 0.5 key demo rating, compared to the 1.63 million viewers and 0.7 key demo rating for FOX’s repeats of “The Cleveland Show” and “The Simpsons.”
8 p.m. – The Sunday premiere of “Big Brother” averaged 5.78 million viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 for CBS in the 8 p.m. hour. NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” encore rose to 4.13 million viewers and was in a three-way tie for second with a 1.0 key demo rating. ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap” dropped to 3.22 million viewers and a 1.0 key demo rating, with FOX’s repeats of “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers” averaging 2.37 million viewers and the same 1.0 key demo rating.
9 p.m. – An encore of last week’s “Under the Dome” premiere won the 9 p.m. hour for CBS with 5.12 million viewers and finished second with a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. A repeat of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” averaged 3.79 million viewers for NBC and finished fourth with a 0.9 key demo rating. ABC’s “Whodunnit?” dropped to 3.2 million viewers and a 1.0 key demo rating, compared to the 3.03 million viewers and hour-winning 1.4 key demo rating for FOX’s “Family Guy” and “American Dad” repeats.
10 p.m. – A repeat of “The Mentalist” completed CBS’ overall primetime sweep with 4.2 million viewers and also won the hour with a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49. NBC’s “Crossing Lines” averaged 3.72 million viewers and a 0.7 key demo rating in its second week. On ABC, a “Castle” repeat averaged 2.84 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating.
