For a while, it seemed like Westworld would never actually happen. The pilot was first announced in 2013 but it took a long time for the project to come to fruition (shutting down production for two months certainly didn't help). Now, we finally have a trailer for what is perhaps the most star-studded and highly-anticipated HBO series in recent history.
Westworld, written by Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest), is a 10-episode dramatic series and remake of the 1973 science-fiction movie. It's been described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.” The cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, Tessa Thompson, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, and more.
The series – which, if the trailer is any indication, will be super tense and creepy – is set to premiere in October. Hopefully.
