Brian Williams has been in a work time out at MSNBC lately, even after serving his suspension for repeatedly lying on air. His time served in the punishment corner didn’t convince audiences to trust him again after he lied on air about multiple stories and even though he’s been back on air for months now most of his assignments are fluff pieces or reciting facts from his chair in the studio.
Election Night is one of his most high-profile gigs since his return, and from the looks of things early in the evening, he isn’t exactly lighting up the studio with his enthusiasm and insight about the Clinton vs. Trump showdown. The internet noticed his lack of excitement, and of course made jokes.
A moment of silence for Brian Williams, who is just excited to still be on the team.

Watching MSNBC and wondering when Brian Williams is going to tell us the stories about when he was elected president.

At least one person is relying on Williams’ coverage to get them through the night as results pour in though. A BriWi army of one, you could call it.

Williams’ ongoing coverage of the results might not be the most electrifying (or accurate?) but he is out there giving it a solid shot, which is more than can be said for some other anchors hanging out in ridiculously expensive studios and jumping the gun on state-by-state results.
