Future Republican presidential candidates may have a tough road ahead of them if Hillary Clinton wins in November, according to Ann Coulter. On Tuesday, the conservative commentator stopped by CNBC’s “Squawk Box” to describe how Clinton’s policies could usher in a dark era for the GOP.
Coulter asserts that a Hillary Clinton presidency could result in amnesty for undocumented immigrants, which would open up borders and tilt the favor in the Democrats’ favor in the coming years. But she said another victim of the presidency could be pundits like her. She insisted, “There’s no point to what I do, what talk radio hosts do, what Fox News does. Nobody goes to the game if you can’t win.”
Coulter did say she thinks Trump will still be victorious come November, despite him being behind the polls. She said he will close the gap because he is a better speaker, and she also believes his followers believe in his take on the issues. Coulter, who is also the author of a Trump-related book, In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome, said when Trump stays on message through the use of a teleprompters, no one is better at policy speeches than the Republican presidential nominee. Trump has been taking allies in the media the past few weeks, but when some of his supposed most trusted associates are questioning some of his quotes, he may have a long road ahead despite Coulters’ confidence.
