On Thursday, another woman came forward to accuse Donald Trump of sexual assault. The twelfth in an ever-growing list of women is former Miss Finland Ninni Laaksonen, who has accused Trump of groping her in 2006, according to The Telegraph.
These allegations came to light after Finland-based publication Ilta-Sanomat contacted several women Trump was known to have come into contact with. Laaksonen told the publication that Trump had inappropriately grabbed her in July 2006, when she and three other Miss Universe contestants accompanied him during an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman:
“Before the show, we were photographed outside the building. Trump stood right next to me and suddenly he squeezed my butt. He really grabbed my butt. I don’t think anybody saw it but I flinched and thought: ‘What is happening?’ Somebody told me there that Trump liked me because I looked like Melania when she was younger … it left me disgusted.”
Laaksonen went on to say she and some other Miss Universe contestants had attended some Trump house parties, which were also attended by his third wife, Melania (who Trump married in 2005). This accusation joins a growing amount of sexual assault allegations against the Republican nominee. For his part, Trump has called the allegations a political conspiracy and threatened to sue his accusers once the election is over.
