Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil sent the Friday news dump into a downward spiral last November when he suggested President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony would feature his iconic vocals. Unfortunately for Neil and fellow musician Elton John, their rumored involvement in the festivities currently scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2017 turned out to be false. Yet the fascination with Trump’s coming presidency, and the manner in which he chooses to kick things off next year, just won’t die.
Consider a New York Times report on Wednesday that, among other things, suggests Trump may be consulting with a former colleague of his at NBC. The Apprentice executive producer Mark Burnett, who tried to prevent show insiders from leaking negative Trump videos and stories, thinks the president-elect should arrive via helicopter:
The president-elect said he was paid a visit a day earlier by Mark Burnett, the executive producer of The Apprentice, the reality show that helped make the president-elect a household name. Mr. Trump told the crowd that Mr. Burnett proposed reinventing the inauguration with a helicopter taking off from New York City, according to an attendee.
According to the NYT, Trump revealed the unsupported details of he and Burnett’s conversation during a fundraiser at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan. Nobody from the Trump transition team or The Apprentice producer’s offices has responded to the claim yet, but considering the former’s penchant for blasting away on Twitter, one may be imminent.
Besides, previous tweets reveal the president-elect’s fondness for his helicopter:
We boarded the helicopter for Sarasota earlier & will be landing soon! See you there. #Trump2016 pic.twitter.com/x4RbbKXHCu
