Fans of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy epic about ancient deities walking present-day Earth weren’t disappointed when Starz brought American Gods to the small screen this year. Visually stunning, the show gave us an imaginative, sensual, at times freakishly weird interpretation of Gaiman’s characters, chief among them a god named Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and his bodyguard, ex-con Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle).
