On Saturday night Ronda Rousey set the record for fastest finish in a UFC title fight at 14 seconds. If you believe the time her coach Judo Gene Lebell had, she actually finished the fight in 12.83 seconds. That would make it the fastest submission in UFC history. Either way, it’s Ronda’s fastest fight, which is extra impressive because she’s finished 10 of her 14 mixed martial arts fights in under a minute.
Here are just some of those quick finishes.

16 Seconds – Alexis Davis
In 2014 Ronda apparently decided she was sick of being called a one trick pony and added a couple of KOs to her resume. She took fellow Olympian Sara McMann out with a knee to the body in February and then landed this amazing throw / punch combo in July, solidifying her reputation in the UFC as a shark swimming in an ocean full of chum.
23 Seconds – Hayden Munoz
Extra impressive since this was Ronda Rousey’s first MMA fight, fought at amateur in 2010. A sign of things to come!
24 Seconds – Taylor Stratford
Ronda’s last fight at amateur and the one that put her on people’s radar as a potential great. Under a minute finishes happen regularly enough in mixed martial arts. But three in a row, by the same submission? By a Olympic medalist judoka? Maybe, just maybe, this Ronda person is for real.
25 Seconds – Ediane Gomes
Ronda’s first pro fight, in 2011 against current Invicta FC featherweight contender Ediane Gomes. Gomes is also well known for winning an underground bare knuckle fight against a guy in Brazil. So she’s pretty legit.

25 Seconds – Sarah D’Alelio
Ronda’s third professional fight and first fight with Strikeforce. There was controversy after the fight as Ronda basically told terrible ref extraordinaire Steve Mazzaggati she had the armbar and would break D’Alelio’s arm, leading the ref to stop the fight without a tap. Ridiculous at the time but considering what Ronda did to Miesha Tate later on … maybe not the worst idea.
39 Seconds – Julia Budd
For her second Strikeforce fight, Ronda Rousey decided no more Miss Nice Lady. Okay, maybe a little niceness. She gave Julia Budd an opportunity to tap out at full extension. When that didn’t happen, she rolled Budd over and dislocated her elbow. What you see next is what Ronda affectionately nicknamed “the flamingo knee.”
49 Seconds – Charmaine Tweet
The night before UFC 184, Cris Cyborg fought to defend her Invicta FC featherweight championship against Charmaine Tweet, beating her in 46 seconds. That’s 3 seconds faster than Rousey – just another reason why we need to see Cris Cyborg and Ronda Rousey fight.
54 Seconds – Sarah Kaufman
Here’s Ronda defending her Strikeforce belt against the first person to hold that belt – Sarah Kaufman. This was Ronda’s last fight for Strikeforce before the company folded into the UFC and she was ‘promoted’ to UFC bantamweight champ. A lot of people complained about that unusual move. Those people are obviously idiots. Ronda Rousey is the best. And if you disagree, just give her a minute to convince you.
57 Seconds – Autumn Richardson
Ronda Rousey’s second amateur fight. Her coaches told her to take it slow and get some ring time in. She obliged, taking exactly twice as long to finish this fight as she did to finish her first.
