Now that the NFL Draft is behind us, it’s a long two months until training camp starts. Until then, football news doesn’t have much of an excuse to take precedence over sports in which games are actually being played. Unless we can all band together and collectively pretend that the four finalists for the cover of Madden NFL 16 being announced is real football news. We can all do that, right? Great!
New York Giants WR and human highlight reel Odell Beckham, Jr., who had perhaps the best rookie season of any wideout since Randy Moss, joins New England Patriots TE and human party bus Rob Gronkowski, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown, and Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson as the candidates for the newest cover. The winner will be decided once again via fan voting, which is currently open in the Madden NFL Mobile app.
Beckham and Gronk are the clear favorites, considering they have massive edges in name recognition over Brown and Peterson. The battle between them should actually be interesting, or as interesting as an online vote over the cover of a video game (featuring Richard Sherman, who waited until the playoffs to be subjected to the Madden Curse, last year) could be.
So are you #TeamGronk or #TeamOBJ?
