Brandon Marshall may have just made the most boneheaded play of this NFL season so far. During a first half drive with plenty of time left on the game clock, Marshall reeled in a pass from his quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, then – for some reason – attempted to pitch it to a teammate.
The ball never made it to its intended target and instead bounced off an Eagles defender’sĀ helmet. Philadelphia recovered the fumble and took over possession.
Marshall was obviously looking to pick up more yards with the pitch, but it still made no sense to take that chance.
