This film has been popping all up in my feeds today, prompting me to finally take a couple of minutes to watch it and see what the fuss was all about, and after having done so I can verify that the hype is justified.
It’s called “Splitscreen,” and it’s a story of two people, a man and a woman — who I presume are lovers involved in a long-distance relationship — living in New York and Paris. It traces their nearly identical movements on separate ends of the earth, culminating with the two of them meeting up on a bridge in London. It was the winning submission in a filmmaking contest held by Nokia, in which all of the entries were shot on Nokia N8 phones.
