Bernie Sanders road to endorsing Hillary Clinton was a long, questionable process that had many scratching their heads on why Sanders was taking so long to endorse and drop out of the race. Why they were scratching their heads is confusing since he never hid his reasons for sticking around and as Seth Meyers points out, he is victorious without having actually won the nomination.
Forcing the hand of the party to even address many of the issues raised by the Sanders campaign manages to keep the dream alive for many voters out there and possibly helps the Democratic party lure some of them into voting for Hillary Clinton this Novemeber. Then they can scratch it and change it to their liking, shipping Bernie off on some ice flow in order to let President Clinton do her thing.
Then again, there’s still a chance Donald Trump wins out and it’s all for nothing on Sanders end. But you almost to believe his “big picture” strategy when it comes to sticking around in the race and fighting for what his campaign was built around this entire election. With the campaign on the horizon, it’ll be interesting to see if Sanders brings anything to the floor in an attempt to shake things up even more.
