Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson Is Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter

If you like your vampire killers more bearded and top-hatted than Buffy, you’re no doubt excited about the upcoming movie adaptation of the novel Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. And now the movie has found its Lincoln, as Variety is reporting that Benjamin Walker has been cast as the vamp-killing President.

Any musical theater nerds out there probably know Walker from his role as Andrew Jackson in the recent Broadway show Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Comic nerds know him as the guy who was originally cast as Hank McCoy/Beast in the upcoming X-Men: First Class, but who dropped out to play Andrew Jackson.

The novel follows the secret diaries of Abraham Lincoln, who is trained from his teen years by a friendly vampire to hunt other, more evil vampires. He ends up becoming president to fight the interests of southern vampires, who start a civil war in retaliation. The film will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov who will  also co-produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley.
