Remember that remake of Robocop that Darren Aronofsky was going to direct until he quit after MGM told him it had to be done in 3D? Well, it looks like MGM’s still going through with it, as Deadline is reporting that they’ve hired Josh Zetumer to write the script.
Now you may be asking yourself…who the hell is Josh Zetumer? Which is understandable, as he doesn’t have too many actually produced credits under his belt: He’s best known for writing Infiltrator, a spec spy thriller screenplay that’s slated to be made by Warner Brothers with Leonardo DiCaprio. He also wrote a draft of the proposed remake of Dune and a script for a fourth Bourne Identity movie that they later dropped in favor of a script by Tony Gilroy (The Devil’s Advocate, all those other damn Bourne movies).
Let’s just hope his Robocop makes more sense than this Robocop: (Ridiculous video after the jump.)
