Miley Cyrus is too good for the porn festival, y’all! Reports earlier this week stated that her short bondage film Tongue Tied — which was originally shown during her Bangerz tour last spring — was to appear at the upcoming NYC Porn Film Festival. However as it turns out, that is not actually the case.
The mix up appears to have stemmed from some sort of miscommunication between festival organizer Simon Leahy and representatives for Miley Cyrus along with the Cadence Films, the production company that produced the film. According to Page Six:
“Miley was proud to make a film with acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Jones. She did not instigate this festival submission and is not participating in any way,” a spokesperson for the “We Can’t Stop” singer said.
Leahy was able to produce emails from Cadence Films confirming their participation, however the production company claims that the festival was misrepresented to them as a “shorts screening at the artist ran space Secret project Robot” and was in no way said to be linked with the NYC Porn Film Festival.
“Basically they didn’t do their due diligence,” he said. “We asked to show it at the festival. Because the word porn is involved, basically the media has just sensationalized it and turned it into a click bait story.”
The news had spread worldwide, appearing on sites like Gawker, MTV and the Hollywood Reporter. “Obviously the story went totally viral that freaked everyone out,” Leahy said.
“We don’t want to cause any harm to Miley and her image.”
*SPITS WATER ALL OVER COMPUTER SCREEN* I mean, yeah — no, we definitely wouldn’t want anything to happen to tarnish the good wholesome name of Miley Cyrus.
Here’s the film in question that would have screened at the NYC Porn Film Festival:
