Late yesterday Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted out a link to his Who Say page (?) that contained the above photo (sans necessary Face/Off enhancements) along with this caption:
“After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder. Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. #greattobeback”
As someone whose childhood was partly molded by action movies and whose adulthood is being molded by an ironic appreciation for said movies and their aging/ridiculous stars, I’ve of course been mesmerized by the photo and it’s comedic implications.
So you’re telling me you can just bump into fellow 80’s action stars in the shoulder surgery line? Or did they need to rent out an entire medical ward to make sure Expendables 2 production stayed on schedule? Are we sure this isn’t somehow a Planet Hollywood promotion? Are those IV bags full of HGH? How much would I pay to see this Face/Off sequel? Is The Tomb a real movie or a euphemism for cryogenic freezing?
It didn’t seem right to cover this triumph in photography without working in a couple of shops. As always, I encourage you to make your own or toss out suggestions. Template here. Add your imgur links or suggestions n the comments.
