Hey, are you looking forward to the WiiU and it’s tablet controller? No? Well too bad, because according Xbox World Magazine, the next Xbox is going in the same direction, and if both Nintendo and Microsoft are going with tablet controllers Sony pretty much has to as well, lest they lose out on any sort of 3rd party support. So yeah, if you haven’t already, get practicing on Angry Birds so you’ll be ready for the next generation of gaming.
According to Xbox World, the tablet controller will feature an “HD screen surrounded by the traditional 360 buttons and sticks” and will be slimmer and more streamlined than the “bulky” WiiU controller. Kinect will also continue to play heavily into the system.
Now, before all you manly hardcore gamers lose your minds, let’s take a deep breath and remind ourselves that this news came from “Xbox World Magazine”. Have you ever heard of Xbox World Magazine? Yeah, me either. So this could all be bulls–t. That said, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard the next Xbox will have a tablet controller. At this point I’m pretty much expecting it to be the case — Microsoft and Sony don’t want to be caught with their pants down like they were with motion control.
This year’s E3 will certainly be one for the books…
