The Avengers is saving mad cash by filming in Cleveland this week, with East 9th Street between Euclid and Prospect avenues being used as a stand-in for 42nd Street in New York City (close enough). They’ve been setting off explosions and filming extras running around screaming while locals stand behind the barricades taking smartphone videos. It’s the most exciting thing that’s happened in Cleveland since that time Drew Carey blocked traffic while waving a gun and then later wrote a comedy special called Runteldat. I may be confusing some things there.
We have some pictures of Chris Evans at the set after the jump, as well as several pictures and videos of Cleveland on a completely normal day. Man, I can’t wait to see how it looks when they close off the set and start adding more rubble before filming . . .
