Dorothy Hunter is a pet store owner on a mission. Since June 19, she has been eating only pet food to prove that she not only believes in what she sells, but also what she puts into her own pets’ bodies. The owner of the Paws Natural Pet Emporium in Richland, Washington, Hunter has been making a name for herself on the local news and the Internet as she continues to post daily videos and updates of her mission on her YouTube channel, but she didn’t exactly come up with the idea during a philosophical moment of questioning her health, a dog’s health, or even the health of every man, woman, child and animal on this planet.
Instead, she wanted a snack, so she grabbed a bag of dog treats.
“I didn’t have time to go get a snack,” she said, “so I grabbed a bag of treats off the counter, and I was like, wow, you know, these read better than normal people treats. So I started eating the treats and I was like, you know, I could do this for 30 days.” (Via NBC Right Now)
In her defense, not that she really needs it because she seems to be quite content with her experiment, I’m tempted to eat a Pup-peroni every time I give my dog one as a snack. But while I think her best defense is her little message for Subway in the above video, Hunter seems pretty confident in her statement and what it means for the way we feed ourselves and our best friends.
