There is a particular clip from a season four episode of The Muppet Show of Beaker fronting Electric Mayhem to “sing” the classic song “Feelings.” While the scene is hilarious on its own, it has taken on a second life on the Internet as a perfect clip to set to virtually any song that you want Beaker to serenade his audience with. Muppets singing inappropriate songs is a hilarious bit of interweb tomfoolery, and this latest addition is sure to be a classic.
Silentó’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” has been literally everywhere this year, so it was really only a matter of time before it got the Muppet treatment. While Beaker may not be the first Muppet to come to mind when people are ready to do the Whip and Nae Nae, but the people at World Wide Interweb combined the two like chocolate and peanut butter. Beaker slays on lead, while Animal is the perfect background hype man.
One Million Moms, outrage machine extraordinaire and self-appointed cultural watchdog, is getting their collective panties in a twist over the ABC’s The Muppets before it even airs, so something tells me they’ll use this as evidence of Muppet debauchery before too long.
