This morning, as the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriages are to be recognized as legal across the United States. President Obama expressed his support for the LGBT community in their victory, noting that “we’ve made our Union a little more perfect,” and that “America should be very proud.”
Before the speech, President Obama made a call to Jim Obergefell, the plaintiff of the case, to congratulate him on the ruling.
