Whose summer is complete without Lay’s foisting some weird-ass chip flavors on us as part of their annual Do Us A Flavor competition? Well, here they are. The four finalists are “New York Reuben,” “Southern Biscuits and Gravy,” “Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries” and “Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro,” all of which geographically span our great country like “America the Beautiful.”
Lay’s announced the finalists on Twitter today in this snappy video:
The moment you’ve been waiting for, America…The 4 flavor finalists are here! Look for them late July! #DoUsAFlavor https://t.co/19mZ8no0l8

These flavor names are bound to raise some questions, such as why the Greektown gyro flavor gets to be kettle cooked, but all-in-all these flavors sound implausible enough to give Lay’s some good business.
Voting begins late July on the Do Us A Flavor website, and on social media. According to Yahoo:
Fans can also vote on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #VoteTruffleFries, #VoteBiscuits, #VoteReuben, or #VoteGyro. Those preferring to vote over text message can text “VoteTruffleFries,” “VoteBiscuits,” “VoteReuben,” or “VoteGyro” to 24477 (CHIPS). Sorry, you’re only allowed one vote a day. The big winner will be unveiled sometime in October.
In the meantime, go try the finalists out and let me know if you’ve actually tasted last year’s winning flavor, “Wasabi Ginger,” which actually sounds amazing.
