On the heels of yesterday’s misguided Casanova with the worst Tinder pickup line ever, comes this cautionary tale from yet another woman looking for love. Msmessyclean (which is it, messy or clean?) writes on imgur that she had matched with the unnamed gentleman from the screenshots in the above gallery, and that he had seemed normal at first for the most part, with “a few quirks here and there.”
But because few of us are without our quirks, she decided to give him a shot anyway and let him have her number. After a mostly pleasant conversation on the phone (she says something still felt off, but she still didn’t read too much into it), they planned a date.
Probably very fortunately for her, that date never happened after a “joke” in the above message in which her suitor asked if she was on birth control. Now let’s get something straight here. People come to Tinder for various reasons, and sometimes they’re looking for casual sex. And that’s fine! But that was definitely not the case here, and msmessyclean wisely decided it would be best to break off the date.
That should have been the end of the story, except that homeboy is really not good at taking no for an answer. As the messages continue, he goes through all of the stages of denial: Apologizing, bragging, pleading, condescension, anger, and attempting to elicit sympathy. Eventually, she just stopped responding to him, but here’s hoping she blocked his number, as well.
